BPNG STAFF LEARN MUCH DURING NPA TRAINING WEEK

Twelve staff from Bank of Papua New Guinea completed four days of training at Craigieburn in September. This is the second BPNG staff group to run through the program this year, which acquaints the team with all aspects of the polymer bank notes manufacturing process.

The program consists of a general introduction to NPA’s business, spending time in The Protectorate (NPA’s visitor experience) and undertaking seven modules of learning on NPA’s Design, Pre-Production, Quality, Production, Finishing, and Passports, as well as a CCL Secure-guided session. The modules consist of a 30-minute presentation and a 45-minute tour of the relevant department, followed by a reflection and quiz to embed learning.

Our Account Manager, Pilar Ruperti led the week's training and says the team is enjoyed the experience.  This included the group viewing BPNG's latest banknote, the new commemorative 50 Kina which celebrates the upcoming 50-year anniversary of the Bank of Papua New Guinea on 1 November.

“It is great to see the broader teams from the Bank of PNG being involved in banknote printing training. The group is highly engaged and appreciative of the complex work that takes place at NPA to produce their Kina banknotes. I’m sure they won’t look at a banknote the same way after this week’s training, and they will be sharing their new knowledge not only with colleagues, but also with family and their communities,” says Pilar.

The week also included the presentation of training certificates and a dinner hosted by NPA on the final evening.
