We are delighted to announce that the Philippines new 1000 Piso polymer banknote and the Australia's R series passport have won best-in-class awards at HSP Asia, the regional banknote and security ID conference currently being staged in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
A regional award, the 1000 Piso was crowned Best New Banknote 2023 and the R series honoured as Best New Passport 2023. NPA's Head of Commercial Services Nuwan Kalpage collected the awards on behalf of BSP and the Australian Passport Office, after earlier in the day delivering a presentation on the R series passport.
"I’ve said we’ve done some great things this year and winning these awards is evidence of that. To be recognised by the industry is a great endorsement of our work and the quality of product we’re making," said NPA's CEO Malcolm McDowell, at the final Town Hall session for the year. “This wouldn’t have happened without everybody in the business playing their role, so well done to every person in the business for the success of the 1000 Piso and the R Series book.”
The awards provide further strong evidence to their issuing authorities that the design, development and manufacture of these security documents by Note Printing Australia is considered to be market leading, as judged by an independent panel of experts.
The awards also cap-off a stellar year for NPA by recognising the quality of product that the company has produced, despite the numerous challenges and obstacles that have been thrown at the business throughout the year.
The awards will be forwarded to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Australian Passport Office for display in their respective offices.
